It’s Like a Roller Coaster

“Sometimes it’s the smallest decisions that can change your life forever.” —Keri Russell

It’s crazy how one event or decision can unravel so many different things in your life or somebody else’s life. I recall when I was a teenager my friend and I were at campground sitting around the fire having a few drinks, I was staying at the campground so I didn’t care how much I drank but my friend was driving. I should’ve made sure he stayed there too after he was drinking but he was persistent on driving home, after a few hours he decided to leave and me being the person I am I just let him go on his way. Well about twenty minutes after he left I received a call from his mother telling me that he was pulled over for DUI, I still feel terrible about this today. What could have happened if he didn’t get pulled over? Most likely he would’ve made it home fine but what if he didn’t, what if he had gotten into an accident and killed himself or someone else? I would never be able to live with myself if something like that happened. We are so caught up in our everyday lives that we don’t stop and think about what would happen if I did this or that, the world moves around us so quick that I don’t think most people realize the smallest decisions they make have a massive impact on the world around them. If you find yourself caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life just stop for a minute and really look at the world, think about the choices you’ve made in life and where they have brought you and others around you.
